District wide domain license using email

All students and staff use a district email address for login to web applications. How can we use district email for Universal Login?

Domain email authentication can be used for easy setup of Student, Educator and Admin accounts without the need to set permission levels for each user.
Important to note: Outside email must be whitelisted for students to receive their confirmation email. See Whitelist External for more details

Our Universal system supports single domain and multi-domain setup. Determining single or multiple domain setups within the universal tools will be dependent on your institution's structure.

If everyone within your institution uses the same domain name, “primary domain email address for all students and staff” called a single primary domain.

If educators and/or administrators have a second or subdomain to distinguish them from students allowing for different email "usernames", called multi-domain. This is the most common design for education institutions that manage more than one domain and require user names for each domain.

Both setup options "single and multi" are quite simple although single domain setup will require an extra step for educator permission level access.

 Primary-Domain Option
Example: mysingleschool.com

Best practice for setup of single domain name accounts.

Tell us your domain name and we will put it in our system at a student permission level.

Students can then create their accounts and start using the Universal tool immediately.

Step 1. Students can go directly to the product URL cowriter.com or snapandread.com.

Click Create account and enter your email address to receive a confirmation email that will start the account setup process. In the final stage of account setup, enter First & Last name and create a password.

Step 2. Administrators go to educatordashboard.com > Manage Educators > Give to Educators.

1 - Turn on product(s)  2 - Enter email address of educator(s)  3 - Set Group (if you would like)  4 - Click Invite. Show Me How

Multi-Domain Option

Example:
Primary domain - myschool.k12.il.com

Students: studentmail.myschool.k12.il.com

Subdomains - myschool.edu, myschool.org

Administrators: myschool.edu

Educators: educatormail.myschool.org

Analyst: myschool.org

For multi-domain account setup, simply give us your domain(s) information, default user level permissions for each one and we will setup when activating your license.

Step 1 - All users can go directly to the product URL cowriter.com or snapandread.com.

Click Create account and enter your email address to receive a confirmation email that will start the account setup process. In the final stage of account setup, enter First & Last name and create a password.   That’s it!
