Steps to use the Text Leveling/Simplify Text tool in the PDF iOS annotator:

1.   Open a PDF in the Snap&Read iOS PDF annotator.

2.  Tap on the Text Leveling/Simplify Text tool. 

3.  Tap in the text on the page to have it Text Leveled/Simplified.*

4. Tap on the tool a second time to turn it off.

Steps to have selected Text Leveled

1.   Open a PDF in the Snap&Read iOS PDF annotator.

2.  Select text on the page.

3.  Tap on the Text Leveling/Simplify Text tool.

4.  Tap on the tool a second time to turn it off.

* If the mesage pops up, "Page does not contain any text. Would you like to OCR it? 

Tap on yes.  
Wait for the page to OCR.
Tap on the Text Leveling/Simplify Text tool.
